The Business Design Centre looked a little different when it first opened in the 19th Century as a space for agricultural exhibitions. Over the years, the venue has been a popular place for lots of different functions, being used for dog shows and even as a sorting office. This venue is located in the heart of Islington’s shopping and entertainment area, with the centre’s website highlighting how over 500 cafes and restaurants lie close to the function space. This means that visitors to the complex can enjoy some of the varied food, drink and entertainment on offer when they are attending functions at the Business Design Centre. What’s more, even if delegates wished to travel to the City for further meetings or catch a show in the West End, they’d only have to travel about two miles. Rooms with a view
At the Business Design Centre you can hire rooms that vary in size. Around a large central area there are three floors containing showrooms and offices. The largest space is the Mezzanine, which has a barrel-vaulted roof and offers 2000 square metres of column free space, perfect for exhibitions and large product launches or conferences, as it can seat up to 1,500 delegates. The contemporary Gallery Hall also offers lots of space with 890 square metres available and room to seat 600 visitors in a theatre style, and is a favourite for product launches, fashion shows and conferences. The Auditorium seats 500 in theatre style seats, while Room A is smaller with a capacity for 250 guests with a gallery level that looks on to the main hall.
