Introducing Our New ‘Furniture By Drone’ Delivery Service
Our trucks travel up and down the country every day, and we know Britain’s roads extremely well. It’s a service that our customers are very happy with, but we knew we had to think outside the box when it came to offering better service and beating our competitors. As a result, Furniture Hire UK, is happy to announce plans to take to the skies with our very own drone furniture delivery service.
That’s right, you will soon be seeing FHUK branded drones flying the length and breadth of the country, delivering items such as desks, chairs, tables and even our VIP red carpet. We’ll be recruiting up to 100 drone pilots to control and manage our new fleet and it doesn’t stop there! We’ll also be programming our drones to lay out your furniture perfectly for you too. We’ve invested in the latest seat configuration software which enables us to send out a group of drones to set up your seating to your exact specification.
Is It A Bird? Is It A Plane? No, It’s A FHUK Drone!
So, when can you expect to see our drone delivery service take off? Well, we’ll be rolling out the service across the UK and initially drop-offs will be available to customers within 50 miles of our warehouses. We’ll be getting in touch with customers within that region in the next few months to offer a free trial of our drone delivery service.
Tests so far have been quite successful and we have had a 85% hit rate. It can be quite difficult for our pilots to land a desk or banqueting table in windy conditions, and so there may be the odd occasion where customers may need to walk a couple of miles to pick up their furniture from a nearby field or similar open land. We also need to find a way for our drones to ring the doorbell or knock on the door to inform customers that their furniture has arrived.

We’ve always been proud of our next day and same day delivery services, but with our drone-powered dispatch, we can offer customers an amazing one hour delivery service. So, if you find you’re short on chairs or you need a mobile bar in a hurry, we can help! For larger items such as bars, we have 4 pilots working together to carry each corner. It’s a system that works very well, but again weather conditions need to be right!
