Beautiful Bouquet Brings Back Texas Memories
It’s always exciting when someone in the Furniture Hire UK office gets flowers delivered to their desk, and our marketing manager Lisa was the lucky recipient today when she received a beautiful bouquet.
Our imaginations were running wild as Lisa opened the packaging around the flowers and we wondered if the sender was the result of a happy furniture hire customer and our customer service, or simply down to good old fashioned romance! In fact, the bouquet was from a good friend that Lisa stayed with when she won a trip to Austin, Texas last year.
This amazing prize formed part of a competition where Lisa was named as the New Starter of the Year 2012 at the annual Hire Association Europe/Event Hire Association’s glamorous awards. She claimed the top title thanks to her drive, determination, and commitment to Furniture Hire UK that saw her rise quickly from our part time graphic designer to our marketing manager.
As business keeps looking up, all our days are busy at Furniture Hire UK completing table, desk and chair hire orders, but Lisa had a particularly frantic time last year. After claiming the new starter title, our marketing manager was also put forward with other competitors to vye for the Hire Achiever of the Year 2012 award, which we proudly saw her win as well at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s upmarket Mayfair.
This amazing feat saw Lisa being transported to the sunny US state of Texas last October where she undertook a four-week working holiday at Premier Party Central. There, our winning colleague got a hands-on experience of the party events’ rental business, visiting showrooms, attending networking events and building her own displays.
During Lisa’s stay she stayed with Emily and struck up a friendship, and her American friend is so happy for Lisa’s recent engagement she sent the flowers we were excited to see in the office today. Our marketing manager was really appreciative of the thoughtful gesture saying: “It really did make my day”.
