Carols at Holy Trinity

Carols at Holy Trinity

What better way to bring people together over Christmas than at a festive Carol Concert. Attending one which hosted a selection of very special celebrity performances and raised valuable funds for the Children & the Arts was not to be missed and it was with great pleasure that Furniture Hire UK were able to assist and take part. Excited crowds filled Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square and were clearly energetic and enthusiastic about the festive evening ahead.

Celebrity performances

John Suchet hosted the concert and readings from the following celebrities added much humour and enjoyment to the evening.• Julie Walters entertained the audience be re-enacting her account of helping with sound cues on a nativity play• Young Musician of the Year, Laura Van Der Heijden performed amazing renditions of ‘Elfentanz’ and ‘Massenait’ accompanied by Martin Barlett on the piano. Both played brilliantly and clearly demonstrated the impact the arts on young children• Ambassador for Children & the Arts Jeremy Irons performed ‘Christmas’ by John Betjeman, followed by classical singing from the group ‘Amore’

There was no question of whether the Christmas spirit was present by this stage of the evening but the audience continued to enjoy:• Actress Emilia Fox reading an animated version of ‘The Tailor of Gloucester’• Queensbridge Primary School singing  a heart warming rendition of ‘The Happiest Time of Year’ and • Brian Blessed performing a reading of ‘The Night Before Christmas’

The whole evening was a huge success and I particularly enjoyed the passionate and vivacious reading from Brain Blessed and Julie Walters.

Raising Valuable Funds

Furniture Hire UK work closely with a large number of charitable organisations and take real pleasure in being to assist at charity events. Attending the functions is an added bonus and a real privilege to be part of transforming not only the future but many individuals’ lives. It was fantastic to learn the Carol Concert had risen over £30,000 and we look forward to working with the Children & the Arts again in the future!

Congratulations to Natalie, Development Coordinator for hosting such a successful evening and commenting:  “I’m really glad that you enjoyed the concert and we were very happy with how the evening went. Thanks for your support!”
