Happy Halloween
Halloween in Texas was certainly a different experience and one I will never forget. To begin with, everyone in the office was dressed for the occasion including myself as a Texan Cowgirl which I thought to be quite appropriate.
Transport & Logistics
I spent the morning with Rick, VP of Operations learning how logistics and operations are run at Premiere Party Central. It was interesting to learn so many differences in comparison to Furniture Hire UK as logistics for any company is a huge factor to take into consideration. It should never be overlooked and great care and attention should always be directed to this area of the business. It is extremely important to eliminate any mistakes which may arise and forward plan so ensure the best possible service is always given to the client. Don’t promise if you can’t deliver!
Linen
My afternoon was dedicated to the linen sector of Premiere Party Central and to say it’s impressive is a huge understatement. The shear size of the warehouse devoted entirely to linen was stunning! The running and operations within the warehouse were second to none and being an individual who is particularly specific with my own organisational skills and structure I loved the labeling and colour co-ordination!
The information I learnt regarding linen was vast and fascinating to see how all the elements come together from being delivered back to PPC , to cleaning, ironing, folding, packing and placing back into inventory. Linen makes a huge impact to tables and chair ties make a lasting impression. The variety of ways sashes can be utilised around a chair are endless and change the overall appearance significantly.
The showroom at Premiere Party Central clearly displays a variety of ideas and allow clients first hand to view how furniture pieces will look at their event. Nothing beats being able to touch and feel the type of materials which are going to be used at an event and whilst a pink or green tablecloth to many people may be simply be ‘pink’ or ‘green’, clients have specific needs and requirements regarding the colour shade and texture. It is important to remember clients have specific desires and they know exactly which colours and material types will complement their event tenfold. To stand out, we need to offer a unique experience and first class service from beginning to end.
Happy Halloween
Following the American tradition everyone in the office was dressed appropriately and I was extremely excited to make a visit to Sixth Street, the most historic street and entertainment district in Austin, Texas. By 9pm the roads are closed to vehicles and the whole area fills in seconds with everyone wearing extraordinary Halloween costumes. The whole experience was completely unique and nothing I have ever witnessed before. It was very entertaining and enjoyable to people watch from a bar rooftop and I’m sure I will never encounter a night quite like this for Halloween any time soon.
