Action Against Hunger was founded 30 years ago and is an international humanitarian organisation committed to ending child hunger. Fighting malnutrition and providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger, they are a recognised leader in the fight against malnutrition and save the lives of many malnourished children. Action Against Hunger run life-saving programmes in over 40 countries and they have over 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disasters and chronic food insecurity. Their hard work and commitment benefits five million people each year.
Jo Furnival from 'All about the Idea' made the decision to hold a dinner party in aid of Love Food Give Food which unites food lovers across the world in turning their passion for food into Action Against Hunger. 'All about the Idea' based in Royal Mint Court, London are a creative marketing consultancy into big ideas. Ideas which transform companies, solve problems and create opportunities. By obtaining the attention of your key target audiences, 'All about the Idea' connects with them through engaging communication.
Jo commented "..in real 'All about the Idea' style I wanted to go one step further, give a little extra and create as much bang for Action Against Hunger's buck as I could" Jo contacted a number of local businesses, Furniture Hire UK being one and asked for their assistance with the Love Food Give Food dinner party. The team at Furniture Hire UK were more than happy to supply one 1830mm banquet table and ten of our modern silver banquet chairs with stylish black pads.
The dinner party was doubled in capacity with thanks to a London based catering and events company. Chase Distillery, award winning vodka and gin producers from Herefordshire completed the evening by sending a bottle of their finest Williams Gin which was enjoyed by all the guests in the drawing room before dinner. The feast began with Chicken Liver Parfait (with Onion Confit), Goats Cheese Mousse with Cherry Tomato and Smoked Mackerel Pate followed by fragrant Chicken with steamed Basmati rice and green salad. Chocolate brownies were then enjoyed by all the guests and a slip of paper posing as 'the bill' was also issued. This provided an opportunity for the guests to use Gift Aid and to record details of who was donating and exactly how much. I can proudly announce that Jo Furnival managed to raise a total of £280 for Action Against Hunger! The whole team at Furniture Hire UK would like to personally congratulate Jo and we look forward to assisting with all events in the future, especially with a menu that good!
